MONROVIA: The Liberian Senate has presented an amount of US$100,000 to the University of Liberia as support to the State-run University.
The President Pro-Tempore, Prof. Albert T. Chie, on behalf of the Senate, presented the check to UL President, Dr. Julius Z. Nelson, on Wednesday March 16.
The amount, according to Pro-Tempore Chie, is intended to address some of the financial challenges confronting the University.
The Pro-Tempore who also served as the Commencement and Convocation Speaker committed the Liberian Senate to the allocation of additional budgetary support to UL during the budget process at the Legislature.
Senator Chie at the same time admonished students to step up their profession careers by working for the benefits of mankind.
“Some of you are graduating as engineers, geologists, agriculturists etc., but you may end up being managers of a bank and so on, but whatever you do, should be for the benefit of humanity,” he urged.
