MONROVIA: President George Manneh Weah has sent a Condolence Message to his counterpart, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Japan, Fumio Kishid, for the death of Shinzo Abe, former Prime Minister of Japan.
Ex-Prime Minister Abe died on Friday July 8, 2022 at age, 67, following a shooting at a political event.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, President Weah, on behalf of the Government and people of Liberia and in his own name, expressed heartfelt condolence to Prime Minister Kishida through him to the Government and people of the Japan, particularly the bereaved family for the irreparable loss sustained.
The Liberian Leader noted that the former Prime Minister Abe would be remembered as one of the free world’s astute leaders, and a passionate force, and champion for freedom, human rights, liberal democracy and peace.
President Weah indicated that it is his fervent prayer and hope that Prime Minister Kishida and the resilient People of Japan will find comfort and strength during this period of national morning.
