GBARNGA: Bong County Representative, Edward Karfiah says, his primary objective is to ensure the electrification of over fifty (50, 000) thousand households across the City of Gbarnga.
The project, which is being funded by Representative Karfiah, is being implemented by Jungle Energy Power.
Jungle Energy Power is the electrical group based in rural Liberia and has involved in energy projects in Nimba and Bong counties.
It is also responsible for the distributions of energy to households in the Central region of Liberia.
Speaking recently during the ground breaking ceremony which marks the start of the energy project in Gbarnga and other surrounding towns, Representative Karfiah, now seeking the Senatorial seat of Bong via the October Presidential and Legislative elections pointed out that the initiative is part of efforts to lightening the homes of ordinary citizens who can’t afford electricity at their respective homes.
Karfiah described electricity as a major component of the nation’s security sector; and as such, the need to provide such assistance for the people of Bong can’t be overemphasized.
He made available a new transformer including light poles as part of efforts to jump start the Project in the Chief Compound Community, in the City of Gbarnga.
The cost of the project is estimated at over US$150,000.
For their part, Community leaders and residents in Gbarnga City applauded the Bong County lawmaker for the bold step taken, noting that the initiative will help restore their security in various communities.
They vowed to canvas for the incumbent lawmaker across the nooks and crannies of the County in order to ensure his victory in the 2023 elections for the County’s Senatorial seat.
The occasion, was graced by Bong County district two Representative, James M. Kolleh; former Electoral districts 1&3 lawmakers, Atty. George Mulbah; and former Deputy House Speaker, Togbah Mulbah.
They, however, used the occasion to cautioned citizens of Bong County to elect someone who has the requisite experience comes October 2023 for the betterment of the County.
