Ahead of October Elections: Police Issue Stern Warning To Troublemakers

by newsmanager

MONROVIA: Mr. Mosses Carter, Spokesperson of the Liberia National Police (LNP), has sternly warned Liberians to rise above any acts of violence and lawlessness during the Presidential and Legislative elections scheduled for October, this year in Liberia.

Carter pointed out that the LNP will do all within its statutory powers to protect lives and properties in the country.

He stressed that anyone found violating the rights of others will face the full weight of the Liberian laws.

The Police Spokesman indicated that as Liberians prepare for the much-anticipated 2023 Polls, the LNP is also concluding plans to train some additional police officers at the National Police Training Academy in Paynesville, outside Monrovia.

He disclosed the training is aimed at increasing the strength of the Liberia Police Force and that the LNP is fully prepared to provide security for all candidates.

He reiterated that the LNP will deal with anyone or group who may want to engage in any form of violence and lawlessness throughout the country on, or during the October 10, 2023 elections.

He used the occasion to warn Liberians; especially trouble makers to desist from acts of violence as doing so will do them (troublemakers) no good.

Carter also appealed to all Liberians to be tolerant of one another in their political activities, as it is not possible for all citizens or everyone in Liberia to support one candidate in any elections including the October polls; writes T.R Dixon
