Swen Chairs Weah’s Re-Election Committee

Monrovia: Ahead of the crucial October 2023 Presidential and Legislative Elections, the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), has put into place all workable political frameworks and activities to ensure the governing party’s re-election in October 2023.

The Party, through its National Chairman, Mulbah Morlu, has set up a new committee responsible for the re-nomination of incumbent George Manneh Weah as its Standard Bearer.

Chairman Morlu said the steps taken, are a cardinal part of good democratic practices within the Party’s political and leadership structures.

With a mandate to deliver to expectations by CDCians across the country, Chairman Morlu made various appointments aimed at securing nothing less than resounding reelection of incumbent President George Weah.

Emmanuel T.T. Swen has been appointed as the Chairman of such committee. Swen is an Assistant Minister at the Ministry of Mines and Energy.

Swen who is the former Vice Chairman of the youth league of the CDC promised to work along with others on the Committee to deliver on the mandate given him by the Coalition for Democratic Change.

The CDC has set February 4, 2023, to formally petition President George Weah at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Monrovia, for his second term bid.

Mr. Swen: “With the level of confidence reposed in me by Chairman Mulbah K Morlu Jr. and the entire National Executive Committee of the Mighty Coalition for Democratic Change, I am even more committed and overly energized to this new political duty of ensuring that the popular people’s liberation movement’s Head, George Manneh Weah, gets nominated in a manner first of its kind.”.

He re-emphasized his pledge to execute the duty along with all astute members of the Committee beyond the expectations of all.

The Assistant Minister at the Ministry of Mines and Energy also appreciated the National Chairman of the Party and Secretary General, Jefferson T. Koijee, Mulbah K. Morlu, National Chairman for believing in him.

According to him, the new political task given him is huge but achievable especially with his astute team members in whom he trusts and believes in to deliver to expectation.

“We will work with passion, commitment and diligence and together as a team, we will achieve our desire goals”, Chairman Swen assured the Party.

Some party loyalists supporters of the government said the official launch, preparations is well on course. They added that the Weah nomination program is taking place in six other locations besides Montserrado County.
