MONROVIA: Perfectly dressed in white, a symbol of peace, Liberia’s President, George Manneh Weah, on Sunday, February 26, 2023 lectured members of the ‘Reformed Pentecostal Church’ in the Paynesville Rehab community to brace up for obstacles (difficulties) in order to see God’s miracles (wonders) in life.

“There can be no miracle if one has not experienced an obstacle. All of us are waiting for the miracles but we don’t want to move towards the miracle,” President Weah added.
The Liberian President, who is also the Founder of the Forky Klon Jleh Fellowship Center frowned on the attitude of gossipers across the country. He said this is unnecessary for the growth and progress of the country.
He said the spirit to believe is God, along with continued praises, backed by hard work.

He said this will also set the stage for one to achieve and receive miracles from God.
“As President of this nation, I am a typical example. People have said, I am dull, I don’t know anything, despite everything I have done for this country, but the time they are taking to criticize me; I am thanking God for the level I have reached,” he said.
President Weah pointed out that to be on God’s list, one has to believe in God and know that He is the beginning and the end.

“When you are on God’s list, just thank God and praise him,” President Weah emphasized.
The President was speaking when he attended a ‘Thanksgiving & Gratitude Service in Honor of ‘Bishop George Wesseh Blamoh’, who is also the Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, at the Reformed Pentecostal Church, Rehab Community, in Paynesville.
The President, at same time, showered praises on Minister Blamoh for his support, leading to “successful administration” of the immediate past Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, Nathaniel Falo Mcgill.
He added that had Minister Blamoh not been a good Deputy Minister to his former boss, he would not have succeeded prior to his exit from government.
Though President Weah said that Minister McGill was “successful” as Minister of State for Presidential Affairs, the United States Treasury Department, in August of 2022, sanctioned McGill, along with two other top Liberian officials for political corruption, an allegation that he and the other accused have categorically denied.

The three former state officials have also called for evidence to be provided by the US Government to substantiate its corruption allegations levied against them.
The United States, Liberia’s closet ally diplomatically and development-wise, in an open rebuke, in August of 2022, sanctioned McGill, along with two other top Liberian officials for political corruption, indicating that their respective conducts were inimical to Liberia’s hard-democracy and good governance.

In addition, the Weah led administration has yet to initiate investigation of the corruption allegations made against McGill and others, saying the accused cannot provide evidence against themselves for prosecution.
Nevertheless, the US government, among other things, cautioned both the private and public sectors in Liberia not to do business with former Minister of State, Nathaniel McGill and all others sanctioned, warning that doing so, will mean the US will impose sanction on whoever is involved.

Delivering his sermon Sunday, the Liberian leader stressed that “the devil is in the business of tempting people, but as a child of God, and with his help, you can resist the devil and he will flee.”
“Today is Thanksgiving Service, everything that you need, everything that you want depend only on God, trust Him, praise Him, and it will come to pass,” Weah averred.
