MONROVIA: The former Consul General of India in Liberia, Mr. Upjit Singn Sacdeva,(cka Jetty) has cautioned students of the Booker T. Washington Institute (BWI), not to allow themselves to be paralyzed by “fear of the unknown.”

He said, if Liberian students allow themselves to be paralyzed by “fear of the unknown” it wound fail Liberia.
Mr. Upjit Singn Sacdeva who is also the Founder and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Jeety Conglomerate, admonished the students to rise to the challenge and drive the change that they want.

“The opportunities and means are at your disposal and the current generation of Liberians is far greater than five decades ago,” the Indian business tycoon indicated.
Mr. Upjit Singn Sacdeva made these assertions on the campus of the Booker Washington Institute (BWI) in Kakata City, in Margibi County, at a ceremony marking the observance of the Joint Convocation exercises of the BWI on March 11, 2023.
“If you look into your surroundings, there are enormous examples of Liberians who mustered the odds and are now contributing positively to the socio-economic growth of Liberia, you can do the same, so, I implore you to do the same,” Mr. Sacdeva stated.
He encouraged the students to be innovative and to start with just an idea that could grow into something big.

He said, considering this perspective, the students will discover their respective positions to contribute towards the betterment of Liberia.
“Bill Gates, one the world’s richest men, made his fortune just from an idea which is Microsoft that the world is depending on for communication and we cannot do without it,” he pointed out.
According to the leading business tycoon in Liberia, the lesson here is that risk-taking is necessary, but having a clear vision of what you want to achieve is more than necessary.
He told the students that failure will come along the way but, they should not be frightened.
“To live, you must continually reinvent yourselves or else, you will fall by the way side and be forgotten,” he stressed.
The Indian former Consul General in Liberia inspired the students to do whatever they believe in because BWI has exposed them to new ideas and concepts and this is why change is the result of all true learning.
“Be curious, ask a lot of big questions and try to find the answers, you now have the knowledge at your fingertips, so explore it now and make Liberia a better place” he noted.
