MONROVIA: The Vice Chairman for Political Affairs of the Redemption Democratic Congress (RDC) Mr. Arthur B.C Wah has disclosed that emphasis has always been placed on peaceful elections but the elements inherent in every democratic environment and its assurances must be deeply anchored in a free, fair and credible process.

Redemption Democratic Congress (RDC) is one of the registered Political parties of Liberia that participated in the 2017 Presidential and Legislative elections and it was headed by former Deputy Speaker George Dweh as it presidential candidate.
He said too often we tend to ignore, neglect and in some cases, become complicit with the outcome of the process rather than the actual process itself.

Mr. Wah made the statement yesterday when he was petitioned by citizens of Montserrado County electoral District 13th to contest for the representative seat in the October 10, 2023 Legislative and Presidential elections.
According to him, election itself is a process which must not be merely observed but monitored over a period of time to offer what will eventually advance peace, consolidate democratic entitlements and good governance.

He, however, urged the National Elections Commission or NEC to do all within its power to conduct transparent, credible, and peaceful elections come 2023 presidential and legislative elections.

He said the National constitution guarantees and protects the right to vote and for every citizen to determine their choice in the democratic process.
He pointed out that, the tenets underpin the fundamentals of good governance and uphold the will of the majority of our country.
“We also urged the NEC to be very transparent in the conduct of the general elections come 2023 to avoid chaos,” he emphasized.
Presenting the petition, Madam Olivia Tawon, who read the petition on behalf of the district residents, highlighted that they agreed to petition Mr. Arthur B.C Wah after careful observation of the politician’s many contributions to the security, educational, health care and sports developments of residents of the district.
