PRC Upbeats on Ties With Liberia… As Modern Expansion of LBS Begins Soon

MONROVIA: The Charge d’ Affairs of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) in Liberia, Xu Kun, says maintaining good friendship between PRC and Liberia is the common wish of the two countries and their people.

The Chinese Envoy said, PRC will continue to support the socio-economic development of Liberia through various means.

He emphasized that PRC is ready to join hands with Liberia to jointly actualize a shared future.

Ambassador Xu Kun made the statements recently at the Boulevard Palace Hotel at a pre-departure reception for trainees from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Liberia National Police and the JFK Hospital who are going to the People’s Republic of China (PRC) for a short-term training.
He noted that in 2013, President Xi Jinping put forth a sincerity, real results, amity, good faith in pursuing the greater good and shared interests for PRC’s relations with Africa.

He emphasized that over the past decade, China has been practicing this principle and China-Liberia relations are mutually rewarding.
He said the two countries have made great achievements under the joint guidance and commitment of both Chinese and Liberian leaders.

He added that, for the future, PRC is willing to carry out more cooperation on the basis of equality, mutual respect, non-interference in the internal affairs of the country.
Ambassador Xu Kun said the PRC will refurbish as designated a school near Monrovia.
He donated a solar E-classroom, giving students the opportunity to receive information, technology, and education among others.

“Through the Ministry of Education of Liberia, we will donate nutrition package to Liberian students including 600 bags of rice, and 600 cans of milk powder,” he said.
He said the refurbishment and expansion project of LBS will include the construction of a new production and broadcasting building, the broadcast production system, an outdoor broadcast vehicle and a satellite transmission system, the maintenance and upgrading of the transmitter room, internal feeder and iron tower in Monrovia.
The Chinese diplomat put the total cost of the project five million United States dollars.
He told the gathering that the trainees are the finalized talents from different departments after a rigorous selection process and will learn advanced work skills and Management experience in the People’s Republic of China to enhance their respective level of service to the Liberian people.
According to him, the training is a concrete manifestation of the friendship between China and Liberia and a concrete action of China’s sincere assistance to the economic and social development of Liberia.
