GANTA, NIMBA COUNTY: A Woman believed to be in her early 40s has been found dead in the F- 2 Guest House which is located in the Pearson Community in Ganta, Nimba County.
The lifeless body of the woman, whose identity is yet to be established, was discovered in Room 4 of the hotel with rope tied to her nick. A screw driver was also found in the hotel room.
It is believed that the woman was stabbed multiple times with the screw driver by her killer on her sides and towards her heart.
The Manager of the hotel, identified as David Kehzie, told reporters that a man who earlier booked the hotel room, and introduced himself as Prince Doe, entered the room on 5, May, 2023.
The suspect, while booking the room informed the hotel management that his name was Prince Doe.
He also provided an address but told Management that he has no mobile phone number. It is not clear as to whether or not the address he provided has been authenticated.
“When you come to this Guest house, we get all of the information from you before we allow you to come in,” Manager Kehzie said.
The hotel manager who is also former District Education Officer (DEO) for Bain- Garr explained that since he opened the Guest House in 2008, such incident is the first of its kind to happen there.
The businessman further narrated that suspect Prince Doe spent his first night in the guest house and during the day of Friday, 6, May, 2023, he told the caretakers of the hotel that he was going to the motor road to buy something.
However, the suspect didn’t return to the hotel until Management decided to check in his room when the mutilated body of the corpse was discovered in the hotel room.
According to Mr. David Kehzie, following the discovery of the body on Friday evening, the Hotel Management immediately informed the Liberia National Police (LNP) about the incident.
Our correspondent said, many residents are suspecting that the woman was brutally killed in the room after which he locked the room and subsequently escaped.
Addressing reporters at the scene of the incident, Ganta City Mayor, Amos N.G. Suah expressed his disappointment and strongly condemned the act.
City Mayor Suah: “We have girl children, how can you bring someone’s daughter/ child and killed her in such manner?”
It is widely believed that the woman, prior to her death, was not a resident of Ganta. Her place of origin, at the moment, is yet to be established.
Our correspondent has gathered from other eyewitnesses that the woman and the suspect were old lovers who went to the hotel for reunion.
LNP sources, told this paper that the suspect used rope and other weapons to kill the woman and subsequently fled to an unknown destination.
So far, according to Police sources, there has been no arrest yet but the LNP has launched investigation of the incident.
