BARCLAYVILLE: The National Elections Commission (NEC), Chairperson, Davidetta Browne-Lansanah, has expressed confidence that there will be a huge turnout in the ongoing Phase Two of the Biometric Voters Registration (BVR) in the remaining nine counties, including Grand Kru.
Madam Browne-Lansanah said with the feedback and data collected so far from across the nine counties, thousands of citizens are turning out to register in the ongoing BVR process.
In a live telephone interview via Ahteenah Radio recently, Madam Brown Lansanah encouraged Liberians to be patient to stand in queues to make sure they are part of this very important electoral process.
When quizzed on whether there will be an extension of the BVR timeline, the NEC Chairperson said there will be no extension beyond May 11, 2023, and admonished all eligible voters to take advantage of the remaining days to fully participate in the exercise.
According to her, NEC technicians have been deployed and are working assiduously on a daily basis to address some of the technical issues their field workers have been encountering since the exercise commenced.
