MONROVIA: Lenn Eugene Nagbe, Commissioner of Liberia Maritime Authority (LMA), and top executive of the governing Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC), says Unity Party (UP’s) Standard Bearer, Joseph Nyumah Boakai, cannot claim to be ‘RESUCE-1’ after sweeping thirty-five million ($35,000,000.00) as allotment to the office of Vice President annually for the last twelve years.
Speaking as guest on the ELBC super morning show early this week, Nagbe who also serves as head of the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC’s) Special Engagement & Strategies Committee, revealed that Joseph Nyuma Boakai received an incremental budget allotments for his office annually, totaling a whopping US$20m for office expenditures and an additional US$15m for Youth programs directly under the Office of the Vice President for more than a decade.
Eugene Nagbe: “With this, how can former Vice President, Joseph Nyuma Boakai, be called” RESCUER” when he walloped in luxury with taxpayers’ monies for over a decade?”
Touching on comments made by Grand Bassa Senator, Nyonblee Karnga-Lawrence, Montserrado County Senator Abraham Darius Dillon, and Maryland County Senator James Biney, at Tuesday’s endorsement of Boakai-Koung ticket by staffers of the Liberia Legislature, Nagbe further asserted that “Senator Nyonblee Kangar Lawrence has endorsed Joseph Boakai more times than she even did for Cllr. Charles Walker Brumskine,” the founding father of the Liberty Party (LP).
According to Nagbe, “All of Sen. Karnga-Lawrence’s endorsements have not landed Joseph Boakai to the Presidency.” He termed the Senator’s endorsement of Boakai as another noise and mere hype.
Nagbe concomitantly described Representative Yekeh Kolubah, a diehard critic of the CDC-led government and key Boakai supporter as Old Road Ma Cuss King Kong.
Commenting on the country’s road network, Nagbe boasted of George Weah’s Administration doing more roads than the former Unity Party government in which Joseph Boakai served as vice President for 12 consecutive years.
He pointed out that in 2018, only 745km of roads were paved, and at present, a total of 1,305km has been paved under George Weah’s Administration.
Mr. Nagbe frowned on what he calls JNB’s lies about ensuring that in 90 days,” all roads in Liberia will be passable”
Nagbe maintained that all of the Senators including Nyonblee, Biney, and Dillon, among others who are claiming to be ” Rescuers” signed all the budgets under the CDC-LED government, but wonders how they can blame President Weah do the hard economy.
“Look, these groups of senators, now calling themselves “RESCUERS” are mere jokers, seeking to plunder the country’s resources again,” Nagbe stated.
He admonished oppositions to run on their” RECORDS”, referring to them as a “Cabal of Budget Manipulators who wants to steal from the Liberian people”
