MONROVIA: An official of the opposition National Development Party (NDP) has vehemently condemned recent disruption of the worship service of Christ Chapel of Faith Ministry, owned by Nimba County Senator, Prince Y. Johnson by individuals believed to be thugs and hooligans.
NDP Secretary Genera, Mr. Jerry W. Yarkpah, decried such attack on the Church and called on government of Liberia to probe the violent incident, aimed at bringing the perpetrators to justice.
He made these assertions in an interview with this paper on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at the party’s head offices in Monrovia.
Mr. Yarkpah indicated that the attack against Senator PYJ and his church is counterproductive to the peace and stability of the Liberian nation.
He said having political disagreements bordering on governance do not require any acts of violence and lawlessness but peaceful exchange of views that are issues driven aimed at promoting national development and sustainable peace.
He also lauded Senator Prince Y. Johnson for not responding to the attack against his church in similar unlawful faction.
Mr. Yarkpah also called on other well-meaning Liberians to condemn such violent acts as the country prepares for its presidential and legislative elections in October this year.
