MONROVIA: With less than four months to the holding of the Legislative and Presidential elections, a political auxiliary group call” South East Alliance for Weah re-election in 2023, on Wednesday June 8, 2023, officially pledge their support to the Unity Party standard bearer Joseph Nyuma Boakai and Nimba County Senator and also the vice Presidential candidate of the Unity Party Jeremiah K. Koung for the ensuing election.
They said Ambassador Joseph N. Boakai, who is the key architect of the Rescue Mission, and Senator Jeremiah K. Koung, vice standard bearer of the Unity Party and Rescue No.2 of the Rescue mission, are best suited to redeem Liberia from it suffering the nation from the hard ship it is undergoing.
Speaking at the at a press conference held in the Dry Rice Markey community on Wednesday June 7,2023, Mr. Watson Chelley, Chairman of the group as a true manifestation of their commitment they will be moving to the South East in the coming days to start intensive mobilization and campaign for the election of this mature ticket.
According to him, their decision is birthed from the background that the next generation will never forgive them if they re-elect a clown and governmental novice as president of Liberia.
He indicated that, their quest to have a well refined and developed country we must put our country before individuals’ personal benefits stressing that, they are honestly asking their people to urgently make the rightful decisions by supporting the Unity Party led by JNB and JKK.
“We can commit that through our work and engagements back home, the votes will be shared 50/50 on October 10, 2023 the five counties” He said.
He pointed out that, as educated people, we are the light to the world and we must at all times provide the needed rightful direction for our people back home adding for educations, good health, better justice system youth empowerment, fighting corruptions above all responsible government support BOAKAI and KOUNG.
Speaking further Mr. Chelley noted that, the increasing high level of hunger across the length and breadth of this republic that is taking most of our brothers and sisters to their early graves because the high level of corrupt practices has driven away international investors from returning or investing into our economy.
“The high level of drugs trafficking which have never been seen since the establishment of this country in 1822 is being practice by this football legend turn politician who is also drug addict” he said.
He said the just ended hundred million drug case which the president manipulated through the weak justice system is a case to reference.
“Some are even killing their own wives, husbands and children as a result of taking in a new type of drug called “KUSH” that is being imported by the CDC government” he stated.
He disclosed that when the South East Alliance was officially established two years ago for the sole purpose of supporting president George Weah re-election in 2023 they vigorously worked to convince our people to re-elect the CDC government even though the region has been abandoned, disconnected from the entire country as a result of deplorable road condition.
He emphasized that he and his team has realized that the decision to support Gorge Weah in the past was the most terrible decision in our nation history stating that, the level of suffering in the South Eastern counties currently is something that they have never experienced even during the heat of the Civil war in this country.
“Basic social services are totally lacking, roads are not accessible, businesses are being closed down, Hospitals are without drugs, and schools are without teachers as a result of no salaries” he said.
Mr. Chelley wonder as to should the South East people Re-elect George Weah who claimed to have hailed from the South Eastern region and not tell the people of Maryland, Sinoe, adding for clarity, the only thing which the people of Sinoe County have benefited from the Weah led government is fifty useless solar light poles that can go off once there is heavy down poll of rain.
He also noted that, supporting Weah over the years was a total waste of our time and resources, and we regret all our decisions we made in the past and promised never to repeat such.
He said that, nearly all major political actors in the country have the believed that the South East is George Weah stronghold, and that those in that region will always vote Weah this believe he said, is not a reality as it is now.
“As we speak, there are uncountable number of angry South Easterners who do not want to hear the name Weah anymore even if Samuel Tweah, Aloysius Tarlue and Bhofal Chambers carry bags of money in Grand Gedeh, Sinoe, Maryland, River Gee and Grand Kru, the people will eat the money and vote against the CDC. It is a glaring fact that the CDC government is headed by an unprofessional governmental material” he said.
