Transport Ministry Remains Non-Political …As Minister Wlue Emphasizes Commitment To Duty, CDC

MONROVIA: In an apparent attempt to debunk claims by some state officials that he is secretly working at odd hours against the re-election bid of incumbent President George Manneh Weah, Transport Minister Samuel Wlue says, the Ministry, under his leadership, will remain non-political.
The Transport Minister, at the same time, reaffirms his political attachment to the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC).

Minister Wlue, who has been a member of the CDC since 2004, reaffirmed his commitment to the party and the re-election bid of President George Weah.

His clarification comes in the wake of allegations against him and other government officials by the Secretary General of the CDC, Jefferson Tamba Koijee, that some senior officials of the CDC-led government are engaged in double standards and working against the interests of the CDC government.

Koijee specifically identified Samuel Wlue, Minister of Transport, and Cllr. Frank Musa Dean, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Liberia, for their alleged involvement in such acts.
Expressing his concern, Koijee stated, “You think you can engage in double standards within our ranks. We have received information that you have been promised salaries until January. While we were tempted to confront you, our chairman advised against it. Take note that we are aware of your activities. If you are loyal to certain habits or a certain lifestyle that you cannot afford to disengage from, and as a result, work against the interests of this government, be warned that we were prepared to expose and shame you.”
However, addressing the allegations of double standards and undermining, Minister Wlue categorically denied any involvement in such activities.

He emphasized his dedication to the CDC. Wlue also clarified that he has never subscribed to any actions that would compromise the governing CDC’s principles.

Minister Wlue stated that his loyalty lies with the CDC and that he remains firmly supportive of President George M. Weah’s vision for Liberia.
While expressing his political allegiance, Minister Wlue highlighted the importance of separating politics from his duties as the Minister of Transport.

He said the responsibility of the ministry and its administrative staffs is to deliver essential services without any political biases or personal gains.

Minister Wlue reiterated the ministry’s commitment to generating revenue for the government and praised the hard work of Transport Ministry employees, stakeholders, and partners aimed at achieving the ministry’s goals.

Minister Wlue highlighted the ministry’s ongoing efforts to decentralize its services and extend its reach to other parts of the country.

By expanding transportation services and infrastructure, the ministry aims to enhance accessibility and contribute to the overall development of Liberia, he stressed.
He expressed gratitude to the Liberian people for their support and trust and pledged to continue working diligently to fulfill his responsibilities at the Ministry of Transport.
