NIMBA COUNTY: Citizens of Nimba County Electoral District#8 have told the Liberian People’s Party (LPP), Standard Bearer, Cllr. Tiawan Saye Gongloe that they prefer voting for their own son, (Gongloe), who is aspiring for the Liberian Presidency and not Vice Presidency.
According to a Press Statement issued in Monrovia on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, from “Team Gongloe” , this is because Nimba County has had two former Vice Presidents namely: the late Enoch Dogoleah under former President Charles G. Taylor, and Moses Z. Blah (late), who later ascended to the Presidency of Liberia for three months.
The Team Gongloe, in the release noted that, the Citizens, meanly from Flompa, Electoral District#8 in Nimba County made the statement during the visit of Cllr. Gongloe to the area recently.
The citizens promised to do all within their power to vote for him (Cllr. Gongloe) to win the Liberian Presidency come 10, October, 2023.
The release quotes the people of Flompa, Electoral District#8, as saying that, Nimba County is going for Presidency this time around, having witnessed the emergence of two former Vice Presidents.
According to them, none of these leaders truly represented them and granted them the presidency they had desired therefore they are aiming for the Head of the Country instead of settling for second position.
They believe that Cllr. Gongloe possesses the necessary qualifications and experience so, as elders and citizens of the district, they are determined to stand with him while encouraging others to support his bid for the Presidency.
The statement added that Nimba has the numbers, and it is unfortunate for them to always support other candidates, making them President while neglecting their own interests.
“Even if someone from Nimba, such as Jeremiah, is going as a Vice President, we have already witnessed them in that position numerous times therefore, they have no intention to support him for the Vice Presidency without careful consideration,” the citizens added.
