The Wahala about the Costa aka “Man can’t talk all’ press conference.
Nyekeh Forkpa
Now that the excitement surrounding the “man can’t talk all” Costa “bombshell” that turns out to be a whimper has fizzled, and people have milked it for the little it’s worth, let’s take a closer look at some of his assertions.
“Man can’t talk all,” said very little that was new.
The issue of the meeting in Ghana and JNB storming out of the meeting when the alleged support was tied to him having “man can’t talk all” as VSB, the fact that “man can’t talk all” had said he was the sponsor of the over 70 years old JNB and that he had said JNB had 6 months to do major surgery or else, were all in the news for about a month, apparently leaked by “man can’t talk all”. “Prophet Key” serenaded us with these for more than a month, during which time “man can’t talk all” denied revealing facts about JNB medical needs and records, something which he did so effortlessly during his rant. Save for the prophecy and the Voter Perception Survey (VPS), we heard everything before. Even the famous wologisi was mentioned, apparently to present JNB as a greedy old man in order to spice up the story.
The Imaginary Voter Perception Survey (VPS)
“man can’t talk all” claimed that the unidentified “investors” did a voter perception survey that showed that he was widely favored across the country and on the basis of that they decided to pump in $30 Million to make him president. Nobody asked to see the voter perception survey that runs contrary to the prevailing sentiments in the country. Before questioning his VPS, I would like to see the details of the survey (the methodology, sample size, and everything). For now, without much, it sounds phony, but I will hold my peace yet. High favorability across the country aaaaa, when you came distant 4th or 5th in small district #6. “Nobody stupid here!” But I am waiting for the details before I tear into this crass conjecture.
The Prophetic revelation about his prospect
Which “pastor/bishop or man or god” and what exactly did he say? This is not the first time politicians have claimed to be destined by God through the insistence of some “man of god”. All those who have claimed God destined them in the past, including Cllr. Brumskine (may peace be to his ashes) have stayed a good distance away from the presidency throughout their lifetime so there is a history of prophecy and the Liberian presidency. It seems the presidency just doesn’t like people prophesizing about it. Wish someone had reminded “man can’t talk all”. But, we would like to know the” man can’t talk all” own “man of god” and his exact postulation. We have a history of sponsored or purchased prophesies, so we are skeptical, without more.
The mystery investors and the fabled $30M
Throughout his whimper, “man can’t talk all” steered clear of mentioning the identity of the “investors” that are so stupid enough to wager $30 million on him and then, at his insistence, on JNB who has not yet become president and if he does, will not be leading in a dictatorship. Who are the investors and why would they choose to be a particular kind of stupid, ignoring the country’s political risk and the peculiar political risk associated with the exploits of well-cataloged “man can’t talk all”? Are the “man can’t talk all “ investors just charitable or too stacked that they would wager $30 Million on “man can’t talk all” and by extension, on a JNB that “Man can’t talk all has said has only six months to live, save through his arranged surgery”? So, the investors are either stupid or cynical or crooked – they paid to use “man can’t talk” all to derail the JNB presidential bid because clearly a “man can’t talk all” on a JNB ticket would have been an instant failure, to the amusement of the paymasters. JNB jumped over the cheap and unsophisticated gimmick eneh so?
The Costa Eventual Presidential Bid
So, if the VPS by the investor, as “man can’t talk all” alleged, clearly showed that he had huge favorability across the country when JNB rejected their overtures, why didn’t they just revert to their original presidential guy “man can’t talk all” and lavish the money on him to make him president so he could give them their target wologisi?. Why did they withhold the money, when “man can’t talk all” whom they attempted to saddle JNB with is a winnable candidate? I am disappointed that they did not just carry “man can’t talk all” and avoid all the noise about how JNB rejected the offer and blah blah blah. They should have just kept quiet and sponsored their winnable “Man can’t talk all” and win the elections so they can have the “wologisi” since it seems to be their target. Doesn’t make sense to deny favorable “man can’t talk all” the mar and take back their money. I am with ‘man can’t talk all” on this one. It is not fair at all. Give the money to the man and let him announce “man can’t talk all 1” and “man can’t talk all 2”. That would be a hot ticket when Man starts talking all as he has already begun. I heard he had harbored ambition for 2029 well, he can kiss that goodbye too. He is not worth doing business with, beyond using him for propaganda, to the extent that he still has a glimmer of respect for that too.
Royal Room 309
Well, without knowing it, “man can’t talk all” already talked all and gave up something when he mentioned “room 309 at Royal”. He hinted that he has ongoing links with the occupant of room 309, which are widely known. Several persons have had meetings with a particular high-ranking government personality in that suite/room and can relate. He just gave up one of his possible investors’ identities, perhaps inadvertently when he decided to talk all. So that plan to dangle $5 Million and squeeze “man can’t talk all’ on the ticket and destroy JNB’s chances failed. I know JNB opponents say he is broke, but the plot has to be better than that next time. Stupid concoction! I hope we all can push “man can’t talk all” to talk more so that identities of the investors and the user of room 309 can be revealed. Dumb!
The ALP circus
If a “serious” political party like ALP wanted to speak on a major issue, assuming it was major to them, and not just something to salvage “man can’t talk all” bruised ego, the political leader and party chairman, could have made the case. Instead, they chose to sit comatose and watch in utter pain as the loquacious “man can’t talk all” destroyed himself. Maybe the chairman saw that coming and got out of the way so he could rid himself of the grown-up kid. (smart). “Man can’t talk all” came across as incoherent, contradictory, unreliable, untrustworthy, and an immature hired mouth at the end of his rant. Having defined himself as toxic and radioactive, he just may have started the decline of a whole political party (ALP). Who would want to deal with an entity saddled with a grown-up kid whose ambition far exceeds his intellect and level of maturity? Mind you, eloquence is not intelligence.
JNB and Wisdom
Well, the trap they set for JNB, he jumped over it and is coming out as the victor. The key arguments against JNB have been that he doesn’t make decisions and that he is too old to understand sophisticated matters. Well, admittedly, this plot was not sophisticated, but it showed JNB, by sensing the gimmick and quickly rejecting the nonsense and storming out, as a wise, decisive, and firm old man who will not be lured by money or bribes. How else could you have explained his rejection of the fabled “$30 Million”? In our tradition, it is said you can’t refuse a call, hence, his acceptance to attend the meeting, but you can reject what’s in the call, hence his rejection of the nonsense that was a “man can’t talk all” as a VSB. In essence, one is not at fault for attending a meeting for which he had no idea a plot had been hatched, but one is responsible for his/her reaction to any such plot. JNB saw stupid for stupid and saw scheme for what it was. He read through the sham and nipped it. So “man can’t talk all” showed JNB to be wise and decisive. No wonder JNB’s response was: “he is my son and I forgive him. That must have come from a happy place. Now on to the next argument.
ALP’s Next move as promised by “man can’t talk all.”
We are waiting for the man-child to make a fool of himself and his party yet again as they attempt to go against the grind. I hope before then, he would have seconded another person to try the next scheme on JNB because clearly, his “investors” paymasters should be asking for their money back. What a jerk! Too many man-children fanning around our politics and making circus of it. Sad!
Note: my intention is not to convince anyone. You are free to believe that nonsense that was heralded as a bombshell that has destroyed a loud-mouth young man. I just thought to take a closer look at the drivel that was spewed two days ago. Enjoy!
Caution, I have time to respond to bare retort but it must be sensible and logical.
