River Gee Promises Weah One Round Victory

CLARA TOWN: River Gee County has given full assurances to incumbent President George Weah and his ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) for one-round victory in the October 2023 Presidential and Legislative polls.

Thousands of River Gee citizens from across Liberia, on Saturday, 5, August 2023, stormed the Survival Sport Pitch in Clara Town, Montserrado County, where they presented a petition, overwhelmingly endorsing the second term bid of President Weah and Vice President Chief Dr. Jewel- Howard-Taylor.

Reading the petition, Johnson Wolaboe, Assistant Minister for Planning at the Ministry of Mines and Energy, and Chair of the River Gee for Weah Re-election, assured the county’s commitment to giving Mr. Weah a resounding victory in the October polls.

He recounted multiple development programs carried out by President Weah in the first of his constitutional six-year term.

He said the President has a heart for River Gee.

Johnson Wolaboe, who hailed from Kilipo, said after vibrant consultations with citizens, including council of chiefs and elders, zoes, men and women, youth, they have resolved to rally around the incumbent for continuation of his developmental quest for River Gee County and the nation at large.

According to him, the people of River Gee are satisfied with the Weah regime, given the many developments being carried out by his government so they have resolved to repose confidence in him to go for a second term, for the betterment of Liberia.

He emphasized that President Weah has demonstrated competence and passion in developing Liberia, while prioritizing River Gee as his home, and for that reason, the county has decided to repay him thru their votes to continue what he has started for the nation and its people.

A senatorial Candidate and former Representative of District#3, River Gee County, Charles Barley, in remarks, expressed gratitude to President George Weah for his developmental mind for River Gee and Liberia.

“River Gee County belongs to no special person, and I can safely assure you for the heart you have for River Gee and the Liberian nation, we will overwhelmingly reelect you,” Barley said.

He urged the people of River Gee to vote wisely come October, adding that their gathering to endorse President Weah was not a mistake, but a victory for the county.

In response, Jones Hinneh, who received the petition on behalf of the President, applauded the people of River Gee, for their support over the years, reflecting on the loyalty River Gee County has demonstrated by massively voting the President into power in his previous quest for the Presidency back in 2017.

“You never made a mistake in petitioning the President as your President, and I say to you today, he wholeheartedly accepts your petition; thank you River Gee for believing in President Weah and the CDC-led government, and for believing in yourself,” Jones Hinneh said while receiving the petition.
