MONROVIA: President George Weah, speaking to scorers of partisans, supporters and well-wishers at the climax of his Western region campaign tour in Bo Waterside, Garwula District, in Grand Cape Mount County, termed allegations of his involvement in illicit drugs dealings as “lies and misrepresentation.”
The Liberian leader, who in the coming days, will continue his 2023 campaign tour to Central Liberia, has, at the same time, characterized individuals who he said are linking him to illicit drugs trade as “desperate and evil politicians”.
According to President Weah, such diabolical lies against him are being peddled by “detractors” who lacked the intellectual powers to engage in policy- orientated debate, barely 43 days to the crucial October’s polls.
President Weah also labelled some opposition politicians who are peddling such diabolic lies against his hard-earned reputation “detractors.”
The incumbent President predicted a miserable failure of what he termed as “calculated shenanigans on the part of concerned opposition politicians to unseat him at the polls comes October 10.
Weah indicated they are baselessly using deceits through the circulation of misleading information with the sole aim undermining his victory at the polls.
President Weah: “You can see that they don’t have anything to say about me again, and as such, they are coming out with lies to deceive you; but don’t mind them, they are losers”.
President Weah: “How can you say it is George Weah who is bringing drugs to this country? This country has been in existence since 1847; the drugs case in the last twelve years, when they said the Chief Security took and said that was somebody’s child. I was the one who was bringing drugs? Was I in government? So, what are they talking?”
President Weah added that he is an ardent fighter against illicit drugs, and as such, his administration has passed an anti-drugs Act into Law.
The CDC Standard-bearer assured the people of Grand Cape Mount County and Liberia in general that his paramount concern is to leave indelible marks of developments for the benefit of current and succeeding generation of Liberians.
Meanwhile, President Weah has ended his Campaign Tour in Western Liberia and would be headed to Margibi, Grand Bassa and Bong Counties in the coming days.
The Liberian President is vying for another six years term, in accordance with Liberia’s 1986 Constitution.
He lauded citizens of Bomi, Gbarpolu and Grand Cape Mount where hundreds of ‘First Time’ Voters in these counties have pledged unflinching support to his re-election bid.
