MONROVIA: With thirty-five (35) days to the October 10 Presidential and Legislative elections, the leading opposition presidential candidate, Ambassador Joseph Nyuma Boakai, says nobody has the capacity to take away his life, or kill him, as he is alive today for a reason.
Speaking over the weekend in Johnsonville, District#2, Montserrado County, Ambassador Boakai, who is the Standard-bearer of the former ruling Unity Party (UP), indicated that he was anointed by God, the Almighty Father, to rescue Liberia, and therefore, nobody can do him any harm.
“They can do whatever, but they can`t kill me; this country will be rescued and God has anointed me to do that,” JNB told thousands of his cheering supporters.
Ambassador Boakai explained that his love for the Liberian Nation made him to spend all of his life in Liberia.
The former Vice President asserted that he is proud to say, he does not have anything out of Liberia.
“I don`t have anything out of this country, it is because of the love I have for Liberia, and this is what all of us must do,” he emphasized.
JNB: “That is why I told my children that they will not live in America, today, as you can see, they were all raised right here in Liberia.”
The UP political leader indicated that his fight to take over the leadership of Liberia is not to compromise the interests of the ordinary citizens, but to reposition the country towards the right trajectory (path), so that others in the World will see and respect Liberia again.
The UP Presidential Hopeful maintained that God has kept him alive for a particular reason.
JNB noted that he is fully aware that the redemption of the Liberian Nation is no exception to such blessings, as evidenced by the fact that “I am moving strong, something, which they don’t want to see.”
JNB: “I am alive for a reason, let them keep wishing negatives for me, but God is strongly moving with me. It is the mission that he wants me to implement; and whether they like or not, this country will be delivered from the hands of heatless leaders.”
Although the Unity Party political leader did not mention the name of particular person or persons who are wishing him negatives, some political analysts believe that his statement was an apparent response to rumors being allegedly peddled in the public domain by some individuals, believed to be pro-regime propagandists that he (JNB), was seriously sick, and as such, he was recently rushed out of Liberia for an emergency medical treatment.
According to the naysayers JNB was seen in a wheel-chair in the Terminal of the Roberts International Airport (RIA) in Margibi County for departure from the country for advanced medical treatment abroad, a claim the Unity Party had since rejected.
On August 28, 2023, the former Vice President, according to the Unity Party (UP), took a break from the campaign tour of Montserrado County for a three-day trip to the Republic of Ghana.
Other reports said, minutes after the former Vice President Departure, a local radio station, reportedly owned by a top national Security Official reported that Amb. Boakai was hurriedly flown out of Liberia for emergency medical attention.
However, the Unity Party (UP), at a major press conference, held Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at its National Campaign Headquarter which is situated at Airfield New Road, Sinkor, Monrovia, alleged through its official spokesperson, Mohammed Ali, that the UP-intelligence bureau found-out later that other high ranking members of the party’s Rescue Mission were being tracked.
“Rescue Mission Campaign, through its Intelligence Bureau, has determined that there is an imminent threat to the life of our Standard Bearer from the CDC and its government operatives,” Mo Ali noted.
The National Campaign Team of the UP, during said conference disclosed that the party’s Legal Team was reviewing all of the legal implications associated with the alleged release of the CCTV footage of the UP’s Standard Bearer and will advise appropriately.
