MONROVIA/GBARNGA: Incumbent President George Manneh Weah 2023 ‘Victory Campaign team is expected to storm Bong County in Central Liberia today, Monday, September 11, 2023.

According to Presidential protocol released late yesterday, September 10, 2023, President Weah and Entourage will depart Monrovia this morning via Kakata to meet chiefs, county officials and women groupings at Nyanford Bridge, bordering Margibi and Bong Counties.

Accordingly, the President and delegation will hold series of Political Rallies in Salala, Totota and Gbartala on the first day of his campaign tour in Bong.

He is expected to dedicate several developmental projects in other electoral districts in the county including the health centers, switching on of electricity in Palala.

During his visit in Bong, President Weah will dedicate an Investment Bank in the town of Bellemu aimed at mostly empowering market women in the area.

Last Thursday, September 7, 2023, the ruling Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) launched its 2023 Political Campaign at the famous Antonette Tubman Stadium (ATS) in Central Monrovia where incumbent President and officials graced the Rally.

Some ‘CDCians’ and ‘Weahcians’ put the turn-out to at the ATS at 100,000 people who came to support the President for a job well done during the first six years of leadership.

But critics of the ruling establishment said Party (CDC) support has declined miserably due to alleged bad governance policies that are affecting people’s living condition, and as such, the huge crowd on Thursday was not as more that 2005 or 2017 elections campaign.

They added that CDCians themselves know that things are not ok….in Weah’s LIB. They said the crowd at the program constituted about 50,000 people.
On September 1, 2023, President and his ‘Victory Campaign’ team toured Grand Bassa.

Grand Bassa is the second ‘BASSALAND’ county after they visited Margibi and Lower Bong County.
In Buchanan, in spite of the heavy down pour of rain in the Port City, thousands of Bassa speaking people from Grand Bassa County stormed the Fairgrounds to welcome and declare their support for the re-election of President Weah.

President Weah is seeking re-election at the polls in October this year to fulfill another six-year Constitutional mandate.

Weah, a former global soccer legend is racing against former Vice President, Joseph Nyuma Boakai, of the erstwhile ruling Unity Party (UP), and 18 other presidential candidates.

Both Boakai and Weah ended up in last Presidential Round-off election in December 2017, in which Weah emerged victorious, defeating Boakai with over 64%. Besides, Weah won fourteen (14) out of the fifteen (15) political sub-division (Counties) of Liberia.

According to our Staff Writer who also attended the rally of ruling Coalition of Democratic Change (CDC) in Buchanan City on Friday, hundreds of thousands of citizens braved the heavy rain to come out in their numbers. Many were seen toting chairs under the rain to celebrate their leader, President Weah.
