MONROVIA: The President of the Liberia Association of Gospel Musical Artists (LAGMA), Madam Miracle Kettor, has appealed to the Government of Liberia (GOL), to include LAGMA in the 2024 National Budget.

She also calls on the Government of Liberia, headed by President Joseph Nyuma Boakai to help provide other empowerment and capacity-building opportunities for Liberian Gospel Musicians.

Madam Kettor stressed the urgent need for the Liberian Government to offer protection for both local and International Musical Stars as well as their Intellectual Property Rights.

Speaking at program marking thanks-giving service, organized by LAGMA at the Monrovia Christian Fellowship Center in Sinkor on Sunday, February 4, 2024, the LAGMA Boss pointed out that Liberian Gospel Musicians have not been assisted by previous regimes, in spite of consistent requests for the Government to do so.

She also decried the prolonged marginalization of LAGMA by previous regimes. This is why, we, as citizens, and group, chose change in which our best interests would be protected by the new dispensation, she stressed.

At the same time, she underscored the need for local radio and television stations to give priority to the works of Liberian gospel musicians as opposed to placing premium on the works of foreign musicians.
