Marketers Decry Protects By Soldiers Wives …Say Their Goods Spoiled

MONROVIA: In the wake of the protest actions along principal streets carried out by the wives of service men of the Armed Forces of Liberia (AFL), several commuters and marketers who trade along the route from Montserrado to Bong counties have decried the action of women.

The women effectively set up road blocks across the country
According to several commuters and marketers, the actions of the wives of the AFL service men has caused them serious setbacks in business transactions.
They lamented that the Blockages have caused their perishable goods to spoil, making their time and efforts wasted without government’s intervention.

A businessman, Harrison Tamba, said he came with Sixty-nine thousand Liberian dollars (69,000.00) mixed crops goods from Bong County by 3 p.m. and got stock at the Careysburg, VOA junction due to the Blockages set by the protesting women.

As a result, all of his goods got damaged because of the intense heat. According to the aggrieved businessman, Harrison, the government needs to be Prompt and strategic in appointing people to public positions, because it’s one of the areas of high moral standard.

” I’m getting disappointed from the embryonic stage of this government. Look at what have happened to us; our businesses are now no use; sick people, travelers, commuters have been negatively affected by such protest actions, he stressed.

Chief of Staff, Major General (Retired, Prince C. Johnson III, as Defense Minister, after being appointed by Pres. Joseph N. Boakai resigned. The business people called on the Government to discourage such lawless behaviors in the country, no matter who is involved.
