Female Media Mentors Undergo Two-Day Training

MONROVIA: The Female Journalists Association of Liberia (FeJAL) with support from the USAID Media Activity Internews in Liberia on Monday, March 04, 2024, commenced a two-day Training of Trainers (TOT) mentorship training workshop for senior female Journalists Media Mentors.

The training which is being held under the theme: Enhancing Mentorship to increase women representation in the Newsroom is currently taking place in Gbarnga, Bong County.

The training is intended to prepare senior female journalists to serve as mentors to mentees under the mentorship program which focuses on the manual developed by FeJAL to serve as guide throughout their relationship with their mentees.

Key areas of focus for the training include overview of mentorship, stages of mentoring and how to conduct training and build relationship with mentees.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the training workshop, FeJAL President, Madam Lisa Tenneh Diasay, challenged the female mentors to be supportive in mentoring young Female Journalists from across the Country.

Madam Diasay said it is the responsibility and duties of every veteran female journalist who has been able to build on the expertise of others to give back to the Young generation of women Journalists who are striving to be at their level.

At the end of the training, Female Media Mentors will be paired with their mentees to begin collaborating and mentoring for the production of quality contents from across the country.
