National Lottery Authority Identifies With Group of 77 …Donates assorted food materials and non-food provisions

MONROVIA: The National Lottery Authority (NLA) has donated several assorted food materials and non-food items to the Group of 77 through the Office of Liberia’s Second Lady, Mrs. Stephanie Dahn-Koung, who is also the head of the Group.

The donation by the National Lottery Authority to the Group of 77 is based on a recent request by the head of the Group, Mrs. Stephanie Dahn-Koung, pleading with the Management of the National Lottery Authority to assist the Group both in cash and kind to enable it seek the wellbeing of the disable community.

Assorted items donated to the group included 125 bags of 25 kg rice, 11 cartoons of vegetable oil, 11 cartoons of soap, 11 cartoons of chicken soup, amongst others.

Presenting the assorted food items and non-food provision to the Office of the Second First Lady, Mrs. Stephanie Dahn-Koung, on Monday, March 4, 2024, at the Headquarters of the Group of 77 on Newport Street, the Director General of National Lottery Authority, Madam Reginald K. Nagbe stressed that the NLA over the years has made significant contributions to the disabled community in Liberia especially in the areas of scholarships, economic and other forms of empowerment.
Madam Nagbe said the NLA’s is committed to its mandate of providing leadership over the gaming sector as well as providing special assistance to the disabled community across most especially, recognized disable organizations.

Receiving the items on behalf of the Office of the Second Lady, the Deputy Chief of Staff for Administration, Office of Vice President, Jeremiah Kpang Koung, Mr. Macdonald Metzger, thanked the Director of the National Lottery Authority and the Welfare Department of the National Lottery Authority for the kind gesture to the Group of 77.

Mr. Metzger assured the Management of the National Lottery Authority that the assorted food and none food items will be used for the intended purpose.

Meanwhile, he urged the National Lottery Authority to continue their kind gesture by reaching out and helping the disabled community in Liberia most especially the Group of 77.
