Kosovo President Pays Courtesy Visit to Boakai

DALLAS, TEXAS: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., on Monday, received in audience Madam Vjosa Osmani, President of Kosovo, in Dallas, Texas.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the ongoing US-Africa Business Summit which both Presidents are attending.

Madam Osmani congratulated President Boakai on his leadership qualities.

She also expressed keen interest in strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries and exploring ways in which they could work together in critical sectors such as business and trade, agriculture, diplomacy, youth empowerment, defense cooperation, coal mining, and more.

During their meeting, Madam Osmani spoke about the challenges her country faced in gaining freedom and justice in the Balkan Penisula.

She highlighted how both countries with similar experiences of difficult pasts could work in concert to motivate improvement in livelihood and strengthen democracy.

In this regard, she extended an invitation to President Boakai to visit Kosovo.

In response, President Boakai welcomed and thanked President Osmani for her visit.

He expressed deep interest in strengthening the relationship between both countries, acknowledging the potential such of relationships could have on triggering positive impact on their respective local communities.

He pointed to the abundance of natural resources in Liberia that are vital to the growth and development of the country and shared his vision for attracting investments in trade and commerce, agriculture, and economic development to strengthen the bilateral relationship.

These, he says, are part of his Government’s ARREST (Agricultural, Roads, Rule of Law, Education, Sanitation and Tourism) Agenda.

President Boakai also took the opportunity to request Madam Osmani’s help in galvanizing support in the Balkan Region for Liberia’s bid to sit on the United Nations Security Council.

The Liberian Chief Executive emphasized the importance of this bid for Liberia as a means of promoting peace and security and ensuring that the voice of African nations is heard in global decision-making processes.

This historic meeting between President Boakai and President Osmani is one that promises to produce positive dividends, with both leaders sharing a strong commitment to working together to strengthen the bilateral relationship between Kosovo and Liberia.

Their conversation was characterized by mutual respect, openness, and an expressed desire to promote peace, security, and prosperity for their respective nations and the wider global community.
