MONROVIA: National Director of SOS Children’s Villages Liberia, Mr. Prosper Mamadou NDIONE, has called for comprehensive Family Support Programs in Liberia.
Mr. NDIONE stressed that the programmes will offer holistic support to families in addressing their economic, social, and emotional needs.
He also underscored the need for prevention of family separation.
He asserted that this measure would help in strengthening initiatives and prevent unnecessary separation of children from their families and promote family reunification where feasible.
Mr. NDIONE in a media interaction at his office recently indicated that accessible Social Services such as healthcare, education, and psychosocial support are needed for families.
He noted that the empowerment of parents and caregivers with knowledge and skills to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment for their children cannot not be over emphasized.
He told the media that SOS Children’s Villages Liberia is committed to working collaboratively with all stakeholders to champion strengthening of families in the country.
“Together, we can create a future where every child grows up in a loving and supportive family, equipped to thrive and contribute positively to society,” he stressed.
According to him, as part of their advocacy efforts, SOS Children’s Villages Liberia will continue to engage with media representatives and stakeholders to amplify calls for action in support of families in Liberia.
He urged immediate and robust actions from government entities and stakeholders to fortify the foundation of the society and the well-being, protection, and development of children which hinge on the strength and resilience of their families.
