MONROVVIA: White Heart Initiative, a non-profit organization that is focused on promoting early childhood development, has officially launched its mentorship program in Liberia. The launch took place on Friday June 7,2024.

The program aims to provide guidance and support to parents and caregivers in nurturing the holistic development of young children.

Serving as Guest Speaker during the launch was Minister Karishma Pelham Reed, Assistant Minister at the Ministry of State who encouraged the children to pursue better education.

Also making remarks was Assistant Minister Arthur Massaquoi from the Ministry of Education who described the organization as the new foundation that seeks to inspire the kids for a good upbringing.

Madam Rashell M. P. Scott, CEO of White Heart Initiative (WHI), was overwhelmed with the turnout of the Children and thanked the guests for their support to the organization.

The mentorship program will pair experienced mentors with parents or caregivers who are seeking guidance in understanding and implementing various aspects of early childhood development.

Mentors will provide evidence-based information, practical tips, and emotional support to help parents in creating, nurturing and stimulating environment for their children.

Through this program, White Heart Initiative hopes to empower parents and caregivers with the necessary knowledge and skills to optimize their children’s development during the crucial early years.

Research has shown that early childhood experiences play a significant role in shaping a child’s physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development.

White Heart Initiative recognizes that not all parents have access to resources and opportunities that support early childhood development.

By offering mentorship, the organization aims to bridge this gap and ensure that all children have equal opportunities for a strong start in life.

The mentorship program will cover wide-range of topics, including but not limited to early literacy, cognitive stimulation, social-emotional development, nutrition, and health.

Mentors will work closely with parents to understand their unique circumstances and provide tailored guidance and support.

White Heart Initiative is excited about the launch of this mentorship program and hopes to create a network of parents, caregivers, and mentors dedicated to promoting early childhood development.

By empowering parents with knowledge and support, the organization aims to contribute to the overall well-being and success of children in their early years.
