MONROVIA: The Government of Liberia, through the Liberia Refugees Repatriation and Reconciliation Commission (LRRRC), has begun payment of resettlement financial packages to returnees under the first phase of the repatriation program.
According to the LRRRC, the payment will only cover those who have been reunited with their families.
As part of the resettlement package, the head of each family will receive three hundred United States Dollars (US$300), while a dependent will also receive two hundred twenty-five USD (US$225).
The LRRRC called on returnees under the first phase to assemble their handover certificates as a requirement for payment at the Johnsonville Transit Center.
The Government, through the LRRRC, is also expected to subsequently make payment to returnees under the second phase following the disbursement of the final portion of funds by the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning.
