MONROVIA: The Executive Director of the Joseph Nyuma Boakai Foundation, Mr. Jackson George says his organization will this month, July, 2024, begin donating medical supplies, worth over US$450,000 to four health centers in the Country.
Addressing a news conference at its Headquarters in Rehab Paynesville over the weekend, Mr. George named the health centers as Redemption and Phebe Hospitals in Bong and Montserrado Counties respectively, while other two health centers are located in Western Liberia, preferably in Bomi and Grand Cape Counties.
The Boakai Foundation Executive Director said the Liberia NGO was launched and its vision and mission has six pillars.
The Pillars include Agriculture, Education, Health, Water and Sanitation, Youth and Gender Development and Environment.
According to him, the vision of the foundation is to drive transformative social change to improve the lives of the Liberian people and to provide needed assistance and service, especially in the rural areas.
He also said the President’s Foundation was long established before President Joseph Nyuma Boakai became Head of State of Liberia.
The Foundation also seeks to support agricultural production, food security, health care delivery, education, human capacity building and youth and gender development to reduce poverty and help build peaceful and equitable society and will coordinate with relevant agencies and institutions both national and international to organize training programs in these areas of the earmarked.
He adds that the Foundation would also engage peace-building and contribute towards sustaining peace through dialogues on mediation, conflict resolution, reconciliation and social economic development.
He maintained that, the Foundation envisioned to transform lives and improve the living conditions of all, particularly rural inhabitants.
He said the Foundation is and has been working to support agriculture production and food security, healthcare service delivery, provision of quality education, youth capacity and gender development, provision of safe drinking water, and the promotion and protection of a cleaned environment.
According to him, it is also a development focused organization working in partnership to unlock the potential of disadvantaged communities and people in Liberia to become sustainably productive and well-off.
He indicated that, the Foundation’s programs are indirectly managed and implemented by partner organizations called Implementing Partners (IPs).
