“Your appointment is based on your ability, integrity and wealth of experience, and we trust you will continue to demonstrate these qualities on the job, to your people and country. Congratulations! Sincerely, Joseph N. Boakai, Sr.”

On his plan of action, when inducted as mayor, the local government official disclosed that Greenville City is the third original cities of the Republic of Liberia, and being under-developed.
He recalled that in the 1980s, Green City used be progressive in terms of agricultural activities as students from the South Eastern part of the nation were hired by farmers to work on their farms, to make ends meet during weekend.
However, Mayor Kai revealed that to date, infrastructures in the county are in ruin, sea erosion is gradually taking over Greenville City.
He said when he is installed, he will work with the Sinoe County Legislative Caucus with the oversight responsibility to put money in the national budget as county development fund.
He said the funds will be used to “transform Greenville City, give it total facelift, thus returning it to its pre-war status as the third original city of Liberia.”
The city Mayor said he will work with the youths, market women, elders, companies, members of business community, citizenry and the City Council, among others, in giving Greenville a new face and as well re-open roads which are not pliable in the city.
Mayor Kai decried the deplorable condition of the city hall in Greenville. It lacks chairs, desks, computer lest to mention furniture for its smooth operation.
Already, Mayor Kai disclosed that Sinoe County Senator County, Crayton Duncan, has promised to make available about 500 wooden chairs for use by the city hall, when it’s renovated.
“With the support of the Sinoe Legislative Caucus, the citizens and local leadership, Greenville City will be transformed to a modern city,” Mayor stressed.
