MONROVIA: Renowned Cyber Security experts, Mr. Victor K. Jarlwood, Jr. and Liberia Cyber Warriors Team are expected to lead Liberia at the Cybersecurity Excellence, amid Liberia’s Qualifications for the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Cybersecurity Regional Hackathon.
The ECOWAS Cyber Security Regional Hackathon, in a congratulations message to Liberia’s team, dated August 1, 2024, said the Road Ahead, Preparing for the Finals in Nigeria after a month of rigorous qualification rounds, the team is now preparing for the finals in Nigeria October.
“We are thrilled to announce that Victor K. Jarlwood Jr. and the Liberia Cyber Warriors Team, has qualified Liberia for the ECOWAS Cybersecurity Regional Hackathon for the third time. His leadership and technical expertise have positioned Liberia as one of the top emerging cybersecurity countries in the region,” the communication noted.
According to the communication, Mr. Jarlwood and the Liberia Cyber Warriors Team have demonstrated unparalleled skill and supremacy during the qualification stages, showcasing Liberia’s growing prominence in the field of cybersecurity.
The communication further indicated that their achievements reflect the dedication, innovation, and hard work that have been put into solidifying Liberia’s place on the regional cyber map.
The communication further indicated that this stage will gather the best cybersecurity teams from across the ECOWAS region, and Liberia is ready to compete among the top contenders.
Meanwhile, Mr. Jarlwood and his team are hopeful that this success story will inspire support from both the government and private companies.
The team, explaining why Liberians should support the Liberia Cyber Warriors Team, noted that supporting Liberia’s participation in the ECOWAS Cybersecurity Hackathon is more than just a national pride initiative.
The team believes that with the right support, Liberia can emerge as a champion in cybersecurity at the ECOWAS finals this October.
” As we move forward to the finals, we are calling on private companies, government entities, and individual sponsors to come together and back this initiative. Together, we can provide the Liberia Cyber Warriors Team with the necessary resources to compete at their highest potential” they urged.
They cautioned that Liberians should unite in making this a moment of national celebration, not just for cybersecurity enthusiasts, but for every Liberian who is proud of our nation’s growing influence in the global tech community
They further indicated that the Cybersecurity is the backbone of digital progress, and as cyber threats continue to evolve, nations that invest in building skilled cybersecurity teams are better positioned to safeguard their infrastructure.
