MONROVIA: President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Sr., has sent a congratulatory message to the Government and People of the Federal Republic of Nigeria on the occasion marking that country’s 64th Independence Anniversary, Tuesday, October 1, 2024.
According to a Foreign Ministry release, in his message to his Nigerian counterpart, Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President Boakai, on behalf of the Government and People of Liberia and in his own name, extended sincere felicitations to President Tinubu and through him, to the government and people of Nigeria as they celebrate their historic day.
President Boakai stressed that as Nigerians reflect on the remarkable journey of their country’s independence, he commands the strides Nigeria has made in fostering unity, progress and development.
The Liberian leader added that Nigeria has been a beacon of leadership in the region and that his government values the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
“As you mark this significant milestone, I am confident that the ties between our two nations will continue to strengthen as we work together to advance cooperation in the African Union, the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the United Nations, and other international organizations aimed at promoting peace, security, and development across the globe”, President Boakai stated.
He then prayed that the Almighty will endow President Tinubu with abundant wisdom and strength as he leads his people to nobler heights.
