Lightning Kills Boy, 12, In Nimba …Pregnant Woman Narrowly Escapes Death

NIMBA COUNTY: A thunderous lightning strike on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, killing a 12-year-old boy.
Also, an eight-month pregnant woman, Princess Wehyee, narrowly escape death from the thunderous lightning.

The incident occurred in the Airfield Community, administrative district of Saclepea City, Nimba County.

The lightning survivor was rushed to a nearby Health Center (the Comprehensive Health Center), in Saclepea City, for medical attention, where she spent a night, got treated, and discharged.

Between the hours of 5-6 pm on that fateful day of October 29, the pregnant woman, she along with her brother, Preston Wheyee (the deceased), were sitting at home during a torrential rain fall.

According to reports, it was when the lightning struck, instantly killing her brother, 12-year-old.

Princess narrowly escaped death from the strike of the lightning, as she became unconscious.

Princess later described the situation as being a natural occurrence.

The lightning victim, 12-year-old Preston Wheyee has been buried, in line with the traditional burial rites in that part of the country.

Meanwhile, the lightning survivor has made an SOS call to philanthropists and well-meaning Liberians for assistance to seek further medical treatment.
