MONROVIA: In a striking warning to the ten-month old Administration of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Mr. Hun-Bu Tulay, former Managing Director of Liberia Water and Sewer Corporation (LWEC) has detected a potential crisis that could emerge if the ongoing Speakership impasse in the House of Representatives remains unresolved or when House Speaker, Cllr. Jonathan Fonati Koffa, is removed from the House Speakership

.

In a recent commentary published by various Newspapers, Mr. Tulay, who supported President Boakai during the 2023 Presidential and Legislative Elections, emphasized the need for transparency and integrity in leadership.

He reflected on a saying that underscores the importance of “honesty in guiding a leader rather than self-serving deceit.”

Tulay, who is also a respected writer and professional engineer pointed out the various challenges that the Boakai Administration has faced over the past ten months, including serious allegations of mismanagement of public funds and rampant corruption.
Tulay asserted that of the ‘majority bloc’ succeed in removing Speaker Koffa, they will turn the coup to President Boakai as well.

He highlighted the dire state of infrastructure across the country, allocation of US$22 million to the Ministry of Public Works for construction of roads, controversial importation of 285 yellow machines, yet, the road conditions in the country remain deplorable.

He added that the education and healthcare systems are also suffering, with inadequate facilities and services exacerbating the situation.

Tulay did not shy away from addressing pressing social issues, such as high rate of youth unemployment, drug abuse, and flooding in communities, particularly in Monrovia and its immediate environs.

He questioned whether these problems could have been avoided with more capable individuals in government.

As the House of Representatives faced with its internal crisis, Tulay’s call for introspection and decisive action resonates, signaling that the future of governance hangs in the balance.
