MONROVIA: The Acting National Chairman of the Liberia People’s Party (LPP) Mr. Stephen Ricks has reacted to media reports suggesting that the National Chairman of LPP, Mr. J. Yanqui Zaza, has been suspended.
He said Mr. Zaza is not suspended as it has been alleged by some party officials, there by creating the condition that there is a Power Struggle in the LPP.
Last week, it was reported by some partisans operating under the banner “National Executive Committee (NEC) of the Liberia People’s Party” (LPP) that has with immediate effect, LPP National Chairman, J. Yanqui Zaza, was suspended for time indefinite, pending investigation by the party’s Grievance and Ethics Committee.
Mr. Ricks who is also the Vice Chairman for Operations of the LPP said the decision by some LPP partisans to even think of suspending Chairman Zaza is not in-line with the party’s 1984 Constitution and warned against anyone doing business with any of them in the name of the Party.
According to him, Mr. J. Yanqui Zaza, is still the National Chairman and he is out of the country on LPP assignment.
